Аура Хисоки имеет свойство становиться сильнее после смерти. После того как Хисока был убит в бою с Куроро, он сумел реанимировать себя заранее заготовленной техникой, после чего его способности Нен вышли на новый уровень, что позволило ему занять 6 место в топе вместо Рейзора.

Top 10 Strongest Characters in Hunter x Hunter Series, Ranked!
Hunter x Hunter has received widespread attention both in Japan as well as internationally. It has solidified its place as one of the most popular Shounen series despite the long Hiatus and discontinuation of the anime.
However, the manga is still going on, and despite the slow updates, the story is entering an exciting arc. Some incredibly powerful characters are revealed, and the mysterious Ging’s strength is finally shown.
In this list, I have ranked the top 10 strongest characters in the series, in my opinion. The rankings are based on their strength, intelligence, and feats.
Zeno Zoldyck is the grandfather of Killua Zoldyck and an extremely skilled assassin. His mastery over Nen, his training as an assassin, and the experience gathered over the years of activity make him an extremely powerful fighter.
His name alone is enough to frighten anyone with knowledge about the underworld.
Zeno once stated that he was confident in killing a whole group of armed Mafia members within seven seconds.
He even said that Chrollo Lucifer, the Phantom Troupe leader, would only have stood a chance against him if he fought him with the intent to kill.
Due to his age, he is only placed at the 10th place.
Botobai Gigante is a Triple-Star Terrorist Hunter and the eldest member of the Zodiacs with the codename “Dragon”.
Botobai’s authority in the Hunter Association is inferior only to that of Cheadle herself.
As a Triple-Star Terrorist Hunter, Botobai has powers and assets unavailable even to pro Hunters. He has extensive knowledge of security and anti-terrorism measures.
He was even once said to be closest to Netero in power. However, since his powers are unknown, he is placed in the 9th position.
Beyond Netero is the leader of the Dark Continent Expedition Team and the son of former Hunter Association Chairman, Isaac Netero.
He has a tremendous degree of power and intelligence, as he was able to manipulate the superpowers of the world into endorsing his project.
As one of the very few Dark Continent survivors who returned sound in mind and body, he is bound to have extreme survival skills and strength.
Being a veteran explorer of the Dark Continent, the need to be watched by 4 Zodiacs simultaneously, and being the leader of many Nen users makes him one of the strongest characters in the series.
He ranks in eighth place as of now since the extent of his powers is unknown.
Shaiapouf was a butterfly-humanoid Chimera Ant and one of the Chimera Ant King’s Royal Guards. As a Royal Guard, Shaiapouf is one of the four most powerful Chimera Ants in Meruem’s colony.
Although Shaiapouf has superhuman strength and durability, he fights primarily by relying on his tactical skills.
He was able to knock down Morel with a surprise kick and was confident that he would be able to kill Gon with a sneak attack.
He even managed to survive a head-on tail whip from Meruem, ending up with just a bruise and some bleeding on his face.
He is the seventh strongest character in Hunter x Hunter.
Menthuthuyoupi was a Chimera Ant and the youngest of the Chimera Ant King’s three Royal Guards.
Menthuthuyoupi was an immensely powerful being who boasted incredible physical strength, which he could enhance with his aura.
He could also shapeshift to enhance it even further. He was able to fight Shoot, whom he put in critical condition in less than 20 seconds of combat and Knuckle and Meleoron at the same time.
In fact, he had the chance to kill the former four while suffering next to no damage from their attacks. He remains steady at the 6th place on this list.
Compared to the rest of the Royal Guard, Neferpitou was the strongest. It was so strong that it could travel great distances in a single leap and kill Kite in seconds. Pitou’s aura was so terrifying that it instilled fear even in the strongest of Hunters.
Through Nen, Pitou was able to summon different puppets to heal wounds or take control of others. Its desire to serve Meruem is so strong that even after death, one of its Nen puppet’s continued to exist.
By manipulating its corpse, the puppet allowed Pitou to continue fighting for the sake of protecting Meruem.
Even Netero wondered if Neferpitou was stronger than him. Due to its feats, Pitou ranks at the 5th place.
Ging Freecss is Gon’s father and a former Zodiac with the codename “Boar”. He is also a Double-Star Ruins Hunter, though it is believed that he can apply for a Triple-Star License with his abilities.
It was him who was the main creator of the Nen-based game Greed Island.
Along with other feats such as capturing Razor, Ging is bound to be extremely proficient in Nen. In fact, Chairman Netero once told Biscuit that Ging was one of the five best Nen users in the world.
Along with Nen, he also possesses immense speed and intelligence. In fact, his power might come second to his wit. He is arguably one of the most intelligent characters of the series.
He can also generally mimic other people’s abilities as long as he has been hit with it. Even this extraordinary ability is just natural talent and not a Nen ability.
It is assumed that his power is either equal to Netero’s or a bit weaker.
Issac Netero was the Chairman of the Hunter Association and one of the most powerful hunters. In his prime, he was considered the most powerful Hunter and Nen user in the world. He is also the fastest character, despite being over 100 years old.
He spent years training both his body and Nen ability to their peak.
Netero’s Nen ability allows him to assemble the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva, which can unleash over 1000 devastating blows in seconds.
Though he lost against Meruem, he fulfilled his goal by killing and making the invincible King feel fear for the first time.
Honorary Mention: Maha Zoldyck
Netero’s power is tied in third place with Maha – the oldest and strongest member of the Zoldyck Family, who was incredibly powerful in his youth.
Isaac Netero, who once considered the strongest fighter in the world, received acclaim for just coming out alive in a battle against him.
After discovering that Neferpitou could not revive Kite, in a state of immense emotional distress, Gon vowed to extinguish all his future potential to exact revenge.
Due to this, he was able to summon all the power he would ever have and grew to an age where he could defeat Neferpitou. Adult Gon Freecss is currently the strongest Hunter in the Hunter x Hunter series.
His physical strength, Nen abilities, aura output, and aura reserves increased dramatically, to the point that the Royal Guard feared he might pose a threat to Meruem himself.
His heightened speed and reflexes allowed him to easily dodge Neferpitou’s Terpsichora and, with a single kick, was capable of throwing it dozens of meters into the air.
His first Jajanken blasted Neferpitou up the side of a hill and caused it to lose consciousness, and with a few more blasts, he killed it quickly.
This power, comparable to the Chimera Ant King, deserves to be ranked as the second strongest.
Meruem, the ‘Chimera King’ is the strongest character in Hunter x Hunter series and the most powerful offspring of the Chimera Ant Queen. He died due to an illness and is yet to be defeated in a battle of strength.
From the time of his birth, he was already the most powerful character in the series.
His tremendous physical prowess, along with an unparalleled intellect placed him well above the domain of humans. He was born with the ability to use Nen and had a vastly superhuman amount of aura.
After consuming Shaiapouf and Menthuthuyoupi, his aura became such that Knuckle believed that they would need a whole country’s military power to defeat him.
GAMERS DECIDE
Picking favorites is hard unless we’re talking about favorite characters.
Hunter x Hunter features one of the most diverse and relatable characters in any anime out there. It seems that every episode introduces us to at least one or two new elements to the storyline, and it can even be hard to keep track at times.
You have downright evil bastards coming out of the woodwork to make our protagonist’s lives a living hell, and as if that wasn’t enough, there is an entire species of hybrid Chimera Ant creatures hell bent on world domination in the name of their king.
There are hilarious people who show up at just the right time to give us a little comedic relief, all the while poor Gon just wants to find his papa. Let’s take a look at the Top 10 Hunter x Hunter Best Characters.
Number 10: Kurapika
He should really try Visine.
The scarlet eyed man himself. Or is it boy? I guess the scarlet eyed person himself. The last remaining member of the Kurta Clan, dead set on eradicating the Phantom Troupe with freakin’ chains and willpower alone, after they hunted his people down to steal their eyes and sell them to the highest bidder.

Number 9: Leorio
More like Le-OERO am I right?
Tall, lanky, and he could probably steal your girlfriend. He may seem like a big nerd, sure, but Leorio has a huge heart made of gold. He may seem like a greedy jerk initially, saying that he wants to become a hunter to make crazy money. However we later see that he wants to become super rich to save people after he was unable to pay for his medical treatment.
What Makes Leorio Awesome:
Number 8: Hisoka
Hisoka: not a good babysitting cantidate.
Alright, alright, Hisoka is a little creepy. He may be playing a few different sides of the field here, being a Hunter, a member of the Phantom Troupe (don’t tell Kurapika), a Heaven’s Gate challenger, a bit of a sexual predator and quite literally a clown, but those things are what makes him one of the best characters in the entire show.
What Makes Hisoka Awesome:
Number 7: Killua
He’ll steal your heart. No, literally. Out of your chest.
Zappy-Boy™ is such an important part of this show, it’s crazy. Sure, on the surface he is the secondary protagonist, but it’s so much more. He is the rationality to the all too common knee-jerk reactions of Gon. He was a fully trained assassin before he was 5 feet tall, belonging to the ultra-elite Zoldyck family. Even the big bad Netero was worried that Killua would manage to retrieve the ball from his hands during the hunter exam arc.
What Makes Killua Awesome:
Number 6: Chrollo
He couldn’t just get gauges like a normal dude.
Chrollo is a bad dude. His last name is literally Lucifer, so the show isn’t trying to hide this fact. He is the leader of the Phantom troupe which are a gang of murderers and robbers for hire. His gang was responsible for the attacks on the Kurta Clan that resulted in Kurapika becoming the bad-ass he is today, so at least a little good came from it. We still don’t really understand the powers or reasoning behind Chrollo’s actions, but we can rest assured that they are not pure.
What Makes Chrollo Awesome:
Number 5: Zeno
How many cool old men does this show feature?
I know what you’re thinking, Zeno wasn’t even in the show all that much, and you would be correct for thinking that. He is however one of the most powerful forces of nature in the Hunter x Hunter universe, highly rated with the likes of Netero and Meruem. He also has an amazing Fu Manchu mustache so that adds to his cool factor by 10X. His Nen abilities are fantastic and a blast to watch unfold.
What Makes Zeno Awesome:
Number 4: Neferpitou
Pitou sucks, plain and simple.
Merium, Chrollo, Hisoka, Illiumi, and the Bomber are all great at filling the role of a villain. They evoke hate and anger from our protagonists and ourselves alike, so it really means something when I say that Pitou takes the evil cake. Never have I been so filled with a sense of primeval hatred for a character. This visceral disgust fills me every time I see Pitou on screen. Pitou destroyed Kite, attacked innocent civilians, and caused Gon to overexert his power level to such a great extent that he went into a coma. With all of that said, Pitou really managed to tie the Chimera Ant arc together and I think the show would have not have been so great without their inclusion.
What Makes Pitou Awesome:
Number 3: Meruem
Don’t invite him to your poker game.
We couldn’t have this list without including the Ant King himself. Meruem is by far the number one most powerful being in the Hunter x Hunter universe that we are currently aware of. They were brought into the world solely to dominate and usher in the age of Chimera Ant domination. It is believed that the Chimera Ant Queen that birthed Meruem was most likely a refugee of the Dark Continent, that being the world outside the normal boundaries of the world map.
What Makes Meruem Awesome:
Number 2: Gon
The style. The hair. The fishing pole.
Of course Gon is on this list. The whole premise of the show is to follow him on his adventures and endeavors, right? Where would we be without him? We love him, and at times, want to knock him unconscious to save him from his own foolish decisions. I think we all see a little bit of Gon in ourselves. The desire to be more, to do good and help others, the quick and sometimes stupid reactions to people around him, and most of all the desire to deliver a punch right to stupid face of Hisoka. I think anyone who watches the show will find at least a few ways to relate to our protagonist, and that’s what makes him so great.
What Makes Gon Awesome:
Number 1: Netero
The man with the beard and a plan.
Netero is the hero that we need, but don’t deserve. To describe him in a word: dedicated. The 12th Chairman of the Hunter Association and one of the most likable characters in the series. His willpower is unimaginable, and his abilities are unmatched. Though he was technically less powerful than Meruem, his mental ability still allowed him to defeat the Ant King using Miniature Rose, an implied nuclear bomb embedded in his body as a last ditch self-destruct method. He does lose the initial battle against Meruem but as a result of radiation, Meruem succumbs shortly after.

In order to be adept at using Nen, a person must master its four main principles, Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. Here are 10 characters who have.
Nen is an ability that allows the beings in the Hunter x Hunter world to manipulate their aura of life energy and use stupefying powers by its application. Although not used by those in society at large, there is a decent number of people who are capable of utilizing this power, and they’re referred to as Nen users.
In order to be adept at using Nen, a person must initially master its four main principles, which include Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. Once mastered, they can then find out their aura type and train in it to create a unique technique. Here are the 10 strongest known Nen users in Hunter x Hunter.
10 Hisoka Morow
One of the former members of The Phantom Troupe, Hisoka is an exceptionally powerful fighter. Although lacking in raw strength, Hisoka makes up for it using his Nen ability known as Bungee Gum.
As explained by Hisoka himself, his aura possesses the qualities of both gum and rubber. Being a master Transmuter, Hisoka can manipulate Bungee Gum as he likes. He’s also more than capable of using Enhancer, Emitter, and Conjurer abilities. Throughout the course of the series, Hisoka has been proving his strength time and again, and he’s only going to get stronger with time.
9 Silva Zoldyck
The current leader of the Zoldyck Family, Silva possesses extraordinary strength as an assassin. Although he specializes in Transmutation, he can also use Emitter and Enhancer Nen techniques like they’re natural to him.
Silva has previously tussled with the Phantom Troupe, killing one of its members in the process. As expected of someone of his Nen caliber, Silva has also fought Chrollo in the past, although who won this battle is something that we do not have any knowledge on so far.
8 Chrollo Lucilfer
Chrollo Lucilfer is the leader of the Phantom Troupe and their strongest member as well. His Nen aura type is that of a Specialist using which he can steal other people’s Nen abilities, essentially making him an adept user of every single type of Nen.
Chrollo has previously fought against many powerful Nen users, such as Silva Zoldyck, and even Hisoka. With the ability that he possesses, it’s no surprise that he’s survived most of these battles without too much trouble. Chrollo is, undoubtedly, one of the strongest Nen users in Hunter x Hunter.
7 Gon Freecss
The main protagonist of Hunter x Hunter, Gon Freecss is an incredible user of Nen. Suiting his tough and straightforward personality, Gon is primarily an Enhancer, but he can also use some Emitter and Transmuter techniques. During his fight against Pitou, Gon sacrificed his talent in exchange for tremendous power via a Contract.
This allowed him to become strong enough to defeat Pitou within a matter of seconds, despite her being strong enough to defeat Kite easily. Great as this ability was, his body started to decay after the battle, and he also lost his ability to use Nen.
6 Ging Freecss
One of the focal points of the story, Ging Freecss is the man who inspired Gon to become a Hunter and seek him out. He is a double-star Hunter and was once a member of the 12 Zodiacs as well, although he soon resigned from his position during the Dark Continent Saga.
Ging’s Nen abilities remain largely unknown, but it is understood that he’s strong enough to defeat Razor, who himself was one of the strongest Nen users in the series. According to the former Chairman of the Hunter Association, Netero, Ging is one of the top five Nen users that he knows.
5 Zeno Zoldyck
Zeno Zoldyck is Silva’s father and Killua’s grandfather. As one of the sharpest known assassins of the Zoldyck family, Zeno possesses tremendous control over Nen. Primarily a Transmuter, Zeno is capable of very high-level techniques, such as the Dragon Dive and Dragon Lance.
He’s also a skilled Emitter and knows some of the most advanced techniques which let him expand his En to over 300 meters if he wishes. According to Zeno, he’s more than capable of going head-to-head against Chrollo and pushing him to his extreme, although whether he can win or not is a different question entirely.
4 The Royal Guard
King Meruem’s Royal Guard consisted of Shaiapouf, Neferpitou, and Menthuthuyoupi. Out of all the Chimera Ants, these three possessed the highest level of skill after the King. As evident from Pitou’s fight against Kite, they’re too powerful even for the strongest of Hunters.
As such, all three members of the Royal Guard possess frightening aura, and their Nen abilities go beyond the levels of humans as well. For instance, Pitou was primarily a specialist and possessed the ability of Doctor Blithe. However, their skill in Emitter techniques was so majestic that they could cast En over a span of two kilometers.
3 Maha Zoldyck
The oldest Zoldyck alive right now, Maha once wielded incredible strength which put him on a pedestal above Isaac Netero. The only known Zoldyck to be an Enhancer so far, Maha possessed such tremendous powers that those who fought him never lived to tell the tale.
Isaac Netero remains to be the only person to have ever stalemated against him and, in the process, earn high praise from him. Although he was astronomically powerful once, Maha isn’t on the same level right now because of his old age. In his prime days, he was surely one of the strongest Nen users to have ever existed.
2 Isaac Netero
The 12th Chairman of the Hunter Association and the strongest fighter in the world once, Netero’s Nen capabilities were monstrous. Although born as an Enhancer, Netero could also use the skills in Emission, Transmutation, Manipulation, and Conjuration when using his 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva to a great degree.
In his fight against Meruem, Netero showed enough skill to impress him and earn his respect, even though he was defeated fairly easily. In his prime, Netero is said to have been at least twice as strong as he was in his old age.
1 Meruem
Also known as King, Meruem was the strongest Chimera Ant and the most powerful being in the entire Hunter x Hunter series until now. Being called the pinnacle of evolution, it’s not a surprise that his skills surpassed that of everyone else in the series. Meruem was a Specialist, just like Neferpitou. His aura was such that even Netero was scared of his potential.
Using his tremendous Ren, he was able to defend himself from Netero’s 0th Hand as well. After absorbing the powers of Shaiapouf and Youpi, his powers increased and he evolved to the point where no mortal could even think about defeating him in a fight. Without a doubt, Meruem was the strongest Nen user in anime and the manga.
